YART SALE
Friday, September 3rd, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Donations accepted: Wednesday, Sept. 1st, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. & Thursday, Sept. 2nd, from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.
It's a yard sale, but with art! Artists and the general public will find for sale frames, matboard, and art supplies aplenty, plus framed artworks and more. All proceeds will support ZMA Operations.
Do you have art-related things to donate? Here is your chance to turn your old art into someone else’s treasure, and support the ZMA as well! Two days before the YART SALE, we will accept all things art-related in good condition, such as clay, pottery, baskets, brushes, frames and framed art, paper and works on paper, fabric, posters, art supplies, art paints (no housepaint, please), craft-making supplies, books, and more. All contributions must be 100% donations. Sorry, no consignments.
Film Series
Saturdays at 2pm. Free for ZMA members; price of museum admission for non-members
Come and view films related to current exhibitions and the permanent collection, and have an opportunity to view the exhibitions and discuss with museum staff.
Light refreshments served.
One of the most popular and memorable of film comedians, Charlie Chaplin is probably best known as the Little Tramp, with a cane, a bowler hat, and defiant walk. He directed and acted in many of his films and carefully chose his female co-stars.
The Tramp, 1915, 36 minutes.
October 9, Co-starring Edna Purviance, Charlie takes to the road, falls in love with the farmer’s daughter, becomes a farmhand, and foils a plot by dastardly hoboes to rob the farmer. 36 minutes. This film, with its mixture of comedy, pathos, and classic slapstick, is considered Chaplin’s first masterpiece.

October 16, Charlie wanders through WWI battlefields disguised as a tree, almost single-handedly defeats the German Kaiser, and receives a victory parade in New York City.
The Kid, 1921, 68 minutes.
October 23, Starring Edna Purviance as female lead and Jackie Coogan as The Tramp’s adopted son, found in a garbage can.
