Thursday Open Studio
Third Thursday of every month from 6-8pm
Free for ZMA members; $5 per session for non-members
No registration required; Ages 10 and older
Open Studio will give artists the opportunity to draw still lifes from the ZMA permanent collection as well as occasional opportunities to sketch in pencil in the galleries. Still lifes will be changed every week. Drawing in pencil, charcoal, crayon, and pastel, and painting in acrylic and watercolor allowed. Easels and tables provided, bring your own materials.
Portrait Drawing and Painting with Christopher Leeper
Friday, April 9 to Sunday, April 11, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
$145 for ZMA members; $165 for non-members (materials included)
Pre-registration required; Ages 16 and older; class limited to 10 students
This course will concentrate on the essentials of portraiture. Students will spend time on improving drawing skills by understanding proportions, value, and how light affects the form. Painting instruction will focus on value patterns, color mixing, and understanding color temperature using watercolors and acrylics.

We are currently restructuring our classes and workshops. We are also continually looking for qualified teachers of all mediums, for teaching children from ages 5 and up, and adults.

Cancellations and refunds: There are classes that sometimes have to be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment. In such cases, the Museum will notify students no later than 24 hours before the class begins and the full class fee will be refunded. |
